THE INTRODUCTION YOU DID NOT QUITE EXPECT
You may ask why? Why just another application? Glad you asked! When it comes to software applications that is specifically designed with Medical Doctors in mind the end result is an application that is based on physical software that requires installation of the software on the users device. Anything can happen, be it problems with the device you are using, compatibility issues (such as if you are Windows or Apple's OSX operating system). This is a real problem. What if your device needs to be serviced? Using a different system? These are just some of the technical problems preceding the capabilities of the software itself. SentinelMD™ allow you to use the laptop or desktop computer of choice regardless of what operating system you are using. In addition you can sign in from any location anywhere in the world. The greatest benefit of all is that no physical software is installed on your computing device. For users familiar with Twitter, Facebook and Google will know exactly what are talking about. SentinelMD™ is part of an entire ecosystem with the focus on Medicine specifically in respect to Medical Doctors. SentinelMD™ is part of a growing eco-system of technologies we have already created or planned.
DIAGNOSTICS | DISEASE ONTOLOGY
Although there is a wealth of resources available for Medical Doctors regarding Medicine, it is time consuming and not always as readily available when needed. When providing a patient with a medical diagnoses you might want to confirm your diagnoses by having a second opinion and in that context SentinelMD™ provides Medical Doctors with with an array or resources. Since We Try To Be Concise And Accurate With The Headings We Choose When It Comes To Diseases And Diagnostic Principles, Symptomology And Treatment Options To Name But Some Areas Regarding Diseases In Practical And Research Terms, We Elected To Use DISEASE ONTOLOGY. Under The Disease Ontology Section We Make Use Of Various Resources And As With Pharmacology We May Use Of Quality And Well Curated Sources From Known Institutes. However, Resources Differ In Area Of Focus And That By Itself Limits The Information. For This Reason We Breach The Gap By Making Use Of Various Resources. As you will see below, where possible we provide treatment data, prescription information and much more.
PHARMACOLOGY
Drugs Constitute One Of The Principal Ways Of Combating And Mitigating Disease. We Make Use Of The Various Research Areas In Pharmacology Such As General Phamacology, Clinical Pharmacology, Toxicology And Pharmacovigilance. We Also Expand On Chemical, Neuropharmacology And Pharmacokinetics. However Though We Consider And Apply Various Aspects Of Pharmacology Our Primary Focus Is On Aspects Concerning Pharmacovigilance Such As Drug-Drug Indications, Adverse Event And Adverse Reactions. We Do So Because In Modern Times Drugs Prescribed May Either Be 'Traditional/Classical' Or 'Novel' And The Risk Of Adverse Events Is Generally Different. Also, Since Every Year Dozens Of New Drugs Enter The Market Which When Used In Combination With Another Drug Poses Even More Risks. For This Reason We Make Use Of Resources That Are Trusted, Known And Up To Date. Environmental factors, social and lifestyle factors, pre-existing conditions, algergies, age may result in a different treatment option
A CLEAN AND SIMPLE INTERFACE
Perhaps the most important aspect of any product is the the interface itself. Any good interface should be clean, easy to use and friendly from the start. It serves many purposes, but perhaps the most important function is navigation, ease of use and serves as a baseline. We prefer function over form. The images you will see when you [toggle to expand] is more or less a reflection of the dashboard. Take note since you will see how deal with complexity. You will notice what appears to be simplistic becomes more complex the further you drill down. The master dashboard starts by providing three categories.
  • General
  • Disease Ontology
  • Pharmacology

DISEASE ONTOLOGY
Disease ontology is not a field in itself rather a single term where within this context could be classification in terms of different aspects diseases. Infectious Diseases is a speciality and Autoimmune Disorders / Diseases when grouped together with other diseases would be one of the reasons why we use the term Disease Ontology. We make use of various sources to further provide the baseline information assisting in diagnostic protocols. When considering symptomology there are many diseases that can share the same symptoms at onset of the disease and then various diseases often have more than one synonym

All the images displayed here are from the INDEX-A list of diseases as per the previous images. It would not be absolutely accurate to state that INDEX-A have a extensively or more focussed alignment with rare and uncommon diseases but some of the sources we use do focus only on rare diseases. The reason why we point this out is that INDEX-B share a similar layout but uses a different approach when it comes to treatment options.
Although hard to see the text in some of the images. It is mainly to provide snapshots of the features. The actual use provides the use with the functionality to expand only the areas of interest and thus provides a layout that adapts to user usages. Some remarks regarding the images shown above from left to right until this text.
  • When selecting INDEX-A you will next see the alphabetical list of diseases starting with that letter
  • [B] will show all the diseases starting with that letter, INDEX-A have different names to INDEX-B and vice versa
  • When selecting the disease (Bartonellosis) the next page with show you general information about the disease which should be for the most part self-explanitory
  • If treatment options are available then a list as per the left image will show
  • This share some similarities with the pharmacological section in that it provides you with the most important aspects of the selected medication which in this case chosen from the left is (Azithromycin). Additionally providing general side-effect data, prescription information and ICD information

THE 3rd LAYER
The information below presents the third layer of the substance and includes more complicated data. Data shown at this level may at times be much more than what is needed but some diagnoses and medical conditions whether drug induced or not may require this level of scrutiny to understand how exactly this substance might have an impact on the person taking this substance or a linked substance. Due to the approach we take we leave nothing for chance, meaning not only will you see known drug-drug interactions but also interactions between this substances and a whole array of other chemical ingredients. Below we have included an example of Pathbank data which to put it bluntly allows the Medical Doctor to see how exactly the substance behave during the course of metabolism. The program itself have a always-available usage guide which serves to explain who we make use of the source data and terminology that might not be clear or different than what you are familiar witch and explain that also.
